Hemp Oil For Tinnitus

Can CBD For Tinnitus Work As An Effective Tinnitus Treatment?

Can CBD oil or Hemp oil cure or at least have a positive effect on Tinnitus? And what if any, are cannabis oil benefits for the tinnitus sufferer.

This interest in the possible benefits of cannabis oil, is probably prompted by several members of my family suddenly being diagnosed with terminal cancer, and my subsequent search into alternative medicines that may help them – Chemo-therapy (the go-to treatment generally offered) really is a ‘double edged sword’ basically as it is a race to kill the cancer before the victim succumbs to the effects of the chemo!

So what has this to do with Tinnitus? Simple really. During my research I have been staggered to find out that Cannabis oil – even though “the new kid on the block” compared to the more established tinnitus retraining programs for instance – has an incredible number of medical applications, and Tinnitus is only one of them. So the search for an effective cbd oil tinnitus treatment is of paramount importance in my opinion, if it has any chance at all to eliminate ringing in ears – or even ringing in one ear !

The fact that the US government is now admitting that cannabis is actually helpful in battling cancer – as this statement says “Cannabis and cannabinoids may have benefits in treating the symptoms of cancer or the side effects of cancer therapies….” see the whole cannabis story here Would at least indicate that it might well be efficacious against other medical complaints.

Tinnitus And Cannabis Use:

Right from the outset I must emphasize that when talking about Cannabis or Cannabis oil, I am not advocating the smoking, eating, or even growing of the Cannabis plant – that is another issue (legal and moral) entirely. Weed, Skunk, Marijuana, etcetera are all derivatives of the Cannabis plant, and refer to the practice of smoking or mixing cannabis with food to get a high.

What I am talking about here is the legal consumption of the Cannabis plant in the form of oil which is high in CBD (cannabidiol) and low in THC (tetrahydrocannabidiol). What’s the difference? In a nutshell, CBD is good for you and will not get you high.

Plants that have a high level of THC content are the ones favored by the cannabis smokers. This is because it has high psychoactive properties – which can lead to acute psychosis and give the ‘high’ they seek. It is this that makes it illegal in most countries of the world and has it classified as a banned substance.

Cannabidiol  (CBD) is one of over 85 different cannabinoids identified in the cannabis plant, and the list is growing. Of these components, the ones that are really drawing attention are CBD, and THC.

CBD on the other hand, is a non-psychoactive cannabis constituent, the component that has the healing properties talked about with such enthusiasm on YouTube videos and blogs. It has only finally been recognized as being beneficial to human health, and in 2015-16 was made legal to purchase over the counter – even though it is graded as a ‘food supplement’ in the UK, rather than a medicine. I suspect this was at least partially to circumvent the rigorous and time-consuming tests required to categorize it as medicine.

  • I should add here that the man accredited with much of the awareness relating to the healing properties of cannabis, Rick Simpson, actually refutes this and insists that THC combined with CBD is the effective cure against cancer.

CBD is short for Cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive cannabis constituent. The lists of benefits and ailments that this oil is effective against is indeed long, particularly if you are judging by personal testimony rather that clinical examination – of which there are few such examinations done.

The range of ailments or diseases that CBD oil is believed to be effective against include..

Famous CBD landmark case:

Charlotte’s Web, is the story of a child who suffered constant siezures before taking cannabis oil, and is now living testimony to the curative effects of CBD. It is now a popular brand of cbd oil and oil products, popularizing a whole movement to make the use of this oil widely available. In fact the state of Kentucky is now ‘place to go’ for cbd oil and other CBD Edibles such as gummy bears and other products, as they are now legally allowed to grow industrial hemp under licence to produce the oil.

Charlotte’s Web Testimony Video

During recent years, there has been considerable legislative activity throughout the United States with respect to legalizing the agricultural production of industrial hemp. At the time of writing this hemp oil is now legal in 50 states throughout the USA.

Hemp Oil For Tinnitus

How do you apply CBD or hemp oil for tinnitus in real life? This is the good part! No injections or anything like that. It is simply taken orally by spoon, drop, vaped, edibles such as gummy bears, or in CBD Softgels. Even a little placed on your finger and rubbed onto the inside of the mouth is sufficient. When CBD oil is applied topically, it is absorbed directly through the skin. This means that it can be used as a potential treatment against a whole range of skin complaints from cancer to dermatitis.

It can also be taken as a skin moisturiser ant-aging cream, or other skin care products, by utilising the appropriate creams for external use only.

CBD Suppositories particularly for those with irritable bowel syndrome or Chrone’s disease, can be an excellent way of administering CBD as a much larger percentage of the CBD content goes directly into the blood stream

CBD Oil for Tinnitus?

I have to say that the evidence for the effective use of CBD for Tinnitus is pretty subjective – Although there is a tremendous detailed article on tinnitus and medical Marijuana on this site.  Many positive testimonies I have read are very convincing.  The main argument therefore promoting its use could be described as “Why Not?” Certainly it is at worst a harmless food supplement, at best it is a cure for cancer along with a whole host of other physical and mental illnesses – why not Tinnitus?

Some people would argue that to say it is a possible solution is simply to get peoples hopes up – however you could in turn say that some hope is better than none at all – and there is nothing to say that it would not work.

So although some tinnitus sufferers may well opt for a more proven method to treat tinnitus – which is quite understandable – It seems to me that the only downside of at least trying the cbd oil treatment, is the financial aspect (it is quite expensive). However what price do you put on your health – or even your life?

Side Effects Of CBD Hemp Oil

The good news for anyone considering cbd oil treatment is that cannabidiol side effects are actually hard to find! In truth this treatment is fairly new and to date there is not much said about any possible side effects from using CBD oil. Apart from general advice from scientists to be aware of any medical treatment that the tinnitus patient might be undergoing – such as chemo-therapy, or any long-term prescription drugs. The cbd oil itself is regarded as a ‘safe’ alternative medicine – or in actual fact a food supplement.

Does cbd show up on a drug test? This is indeed a good question, and the answer is no…or at least it shouldn’t. Drug tests are set to pick up the THC element of the cannabidiol oil, however in high doses of hemp seed oil which is made from the stalk and seeds of the cannabis plant, there may well be traces of THC. So it is something you should consider if taking a urine drug test for example.

CBD Oil Growing In Popularity:

Once you get over the stigma of even admitting to being interested in Cannabis oil (You know what I mean!) Then it has to be admitted that the interest in this product is becoming more widely accepted – and not before time in my opinion. Even if it is being sold as a ‘food supplement’ the (admittedly subjective) use as an effective treatment for numerous critical conditions is almost overwhelming. Coupled with the fact that there are apparently little to zero side effects linked to the usage of CBD oil, I have to ask the question posed earlier – why not try it?

Commercial growers are now producing strains of Cannabis sativa plant that are high in CBD and low in THC, specifically to produce this CBD Oil. The percentage CBD in the oil you purchase can have a range anything between 1 and 40%. Charlotte’s Web hemp oil for instance is around 4% CBD but I have found others that have a 40% CBD content.  A higher concentration is basically a thick paste that canot be administered via a dropper. This and the fact that it has been legalized for use in this form bodes well for many sufferers of tinnitus as well as the other conditions listed above.

As for the possible beneficial effects of CBD Oil for tinnitus sufferers, personally I am convinced that for some at least, this treatment has huge possibilities. The only negative is the cost of the oil – which grows exponentially as the percentage CBD content it contains rises.

A cheaper alternative, perhaps for a trial period? would be hemp oil extract – which is the complete spectrum of oils extracted from the industrial hemp plant. This is relatively low in CBD (around 2%) but benefits from the fact that it is a ‘full spectrum’ oil. This produces the ‘Entourage Effect’ as it is now accepted by the scientific community that the sum total is stronger than the individual components. This is the oil offered by CBDPure for instance, as it contains naturally occurring cannabidiol, terpenes and other cannabinoids to promote overall well-being.

The main issue for the moment as I see it is the link to cannabis and smoking marijuana! Let us be clear again though – no such link exists. The cbd oil extract from the cannabis plant is completely free from any hallucinogenic or addictive properties (which is attributable to the THC element of cannabis). Taking cbd oil will not get you ‘high’ nor will it result in you having wild hallucinations – on the other hand, it may just get you cured!

Will CBD Show Up On A Drug Test?

This is a very good question – and fortunately one that has a good answer to anyone taking CBD oil for medical or other reasons. Simply put – No it will not…with a little proviso!

CBD is a cannabinoid quite separate from THC – which will indeed show up in any drug screening as it has psychoactive and other properties that are against the rules for both athletes and employees if they should be subject to testing.

CBD is not tested for as such, however a heavy user of CBD oil (a heavy user meaning over 200mgs grams per day) which has an element of THC included in the mix may show up on initial tests. If this is the case, then on further more detailed urine testing called a GC/MS should confirm that the flagged product is in fact CBD and not the psychoactive THC element.

It therefore behooves the reader to be vigilant regarding the CBD oil they purchase, and to be sure it does not contain THC. If the CBD oil is from a reputable dealer and is guaranteed HTC free, then there is no reason for a user to fear they may lose their job or fail a drug test by using CBD oil.

However I would add that it would be just common sense to check with whatever regulatory body applies to your individual case, just to be extra sure of this position.

What’s The Difference between CBD Oil and Hemp Oil?

Despite the blanket usage of the terms, Hemp oil and CBD oil are completely different in many ways. The confusion most probably arises from the term ‘hemp’ often used to describe cannabis or marijuana.

In a nutshell, hemp oil is produced from the seeds and stem of the hemp or cannabis plant. This hemp oil is used mainly as a food or dietary supplement, hand cream additive, bio-diesel fuel, or even in the production of plastics. It has next to zero psychoactive properties and very low levels of CBD.

Hemp oil CBD can however be produced with low levels of CBD, from the leaves and flowers of the hemp plant. This can be supplimented with CBD from medical marijuana plants to make higher %CBD hemp oils. Some people prefer this CBD Hemp oil as it may offer a fuller spectrum of the cannabidiols that make up the oils.

CBD oil on the other hand is produced from the Marijuana plant, from the leaves and flower heads. ‘Medical’ Marijuana plants are now being cultivated that produce more of the beneficial CBD oil and less of the THC. This is in turn resulting in CBD oil concentrations of 10-40% CBD. Some products however have over 40% CBD content, This usually results in a thick paste applied by means of a syringe.

This resulting CBD oil or hemp oil product, can be used in the treatment of cancer, inflammatory disorders , anxiety, depression, seizures, tinnitus, and neurodegenerative disorders. As well as skin complaints, Irritable bowel Syndrome(IBS), hemp oil for chrone’s disease, Diabetes, and much more.

As long as the correct product or carrier is chosen, the oil can be applied either orally or externally as it permeates the skin – a bit like garlic!

With that in mind it is important to note that if you are planning to use CBD oil for medical reasons – even though it is classed as a dietary supplement – then you should be sure it is CBD oil and not the Hemp oil you may buy via Amazon for instance, which is predominantly aimed at the ‘Healthy Diet’ customers.

CBD Infused hemp oil however is another matter and is available on several sites – including the one listed below. This specialist hemp oil retailer sells Hemp oil infused with various percentages of CBD. You will also find a full product description on their site which gives more information on the many products available from CBD edibles to CBD oil for ecigs – it makes for interesting reading 🙂

CBD Patches

There are many medications available these days, that can be administered via a patch stuck directly onto the skin. Painkillers and anti-inflamitories immediately spring to mind, as does nikotine patches for those wishing to stop smoking or perhaps anti-sickness medication. The technical name for these patches are ‘Transdermal Patches.’ These are medicated adhesive patches constructed with the specific goal of introducing medication directly through the skin. The bad news is that in general the skin offers up a very effective barrier against anything wishing to penetrate it, and so only certain medications that have the smallest molecules can be introduced in this way.

So can CBD be delivered via a transdermal patch? Indeed it can. CBD (Cannabidiol) can be absorbed directly through the skin, making it an excellent candidate for administration via a patch. This may be especially interesting for many folks who just cannot stand the taste of hemp oil – myself being included in that list!

So far so good…I have one tiny problem that I have yet to solve though. The cbd patch retailers I have encountered so far only include in their description (typically) 40mg CBD oil or 10mg CBD etc.

So what’s wrong with that you may ask. Well the fact is that this description is misleading to say the least. The infusion may well be 40mg – but that includes (as far as I can tell) all the other elements that hemp oil consists off. In other words it is not 40mg of CBD oil at all, it is 40mg of hemp oil that contains CBD – this is a huge issue to my mind. The actual CBD content could be as low as 1-3% which would be average for hemp oil.

So are CBD patches a good thing? The idea itself I think is fantastic. I recently spoke to an individual who takes CBD patches for anxiety and insists his condition has improved dramatically. I just wish I could get a straight answer regarding CBD % from the retailers I have found so far.

Watch this space for an immediate update if I do so 🙂

Can Vaping CBD Oil Help with Tinnitus?

Vaping or ‘smoking’ ecigarettes is certainly growing in popularity, and there is no end to the flavours that are available to the dedicated ‘vaper.’ However the real issue is, can it help if you are vaping CBD oil or tincture in your ecig?

The jury is out as they say. To date I have found no definative evidence to point one way or the other. The best I can say is that it is unlikely to do any harm, and if it calms the tortured soul then it follows that it may relieve stress and so indirectly help with stress-related tinnitus!

However that said. One definate advantage of vaping CBD oil instead of ingesting it either via a food additive, massage oil, or administered directly under the tongue, is this.

Vaping CBD (or more accurately CBD oil juice), means that the CBD content goes directly into the lungs, and therby is absorbed directly into the bloodstream. This means that it does not have to work its way through the gut, diluting the CBD content as it does so.

Some experts believe that this means that up to 30% more CBD content is administered directly into the bloodstream compared to conventional oral administration.

Why Choose CBD Oil To Treat Tinnitus

Treatment for tinnitus is a very individual thing, as each case is undeed individual as are the causes and types of tinnitus.

That said, one of the strongest the benefits of using CBD oil to treat tinnitus is that it has a widespread application amongst a range of problems associated with this condition, some of which are discussed above, but here are a few bullet points to consider.

  • CBD oil itself is a natural product and can be used with out any serious side-effects being recorded amongst the vast majority of users.
  • The oil can be applied simply in many ways including internal and external use. Meaning there is no invasive surgery involved!
  • CBD treatment is also a LOT cheaper than surgery of any kind
  • Biggest Benefit of using CBD? CBD works alongside the body’s auto-immune system via the endocannabinoid receptors. So even though being used to treat tinnitus, it is also working  throughout your body to put right any number of different conditions a user may be troubled with.
